Adoption - The Beginning of a Family

November is such a special month in our household. Michael's birthday. Carsten's birthday. The day we finalized our adoption of Carsten. As I start to fill out paperwork for the second adoption, I can't help but wonder whom God is going to place in our family. Boy or girl? Black or white? I get so excited just thinking about it. I know that whomever we get, God wants them to be with us. How exciting is that!! I just hope that they are as much fun as Carsten has been.

Carsten's Second Birthday Party

What a day! The day before the big day, I decided to make his cake and cupcakes. This was my first attempt at doing it all on my own. I had fun. I'm ordering his cake and cupcakes from Albertsons or Krogers next year. It was fun but very time consuming. 

The forecast had called for rain and we had borrowed a jumper for the kids. Carsten and I prayed about it the day before the party and the rain held off until close to the end. Carsten had an awesome birthday and we would like to thank all our friends and family that made his day so special.

My mother-in-law has a local business called Storks 'n Stuff. She was kind enough to supply the birthday sign for us. Carsten loved it. Thank you MeMee.

Too Busy and Happy Birthday Carsten

All I have blogged about lately has been giveaways, mainly for Etsy it Up. I have a good excuse for not posting any cute bibs, aprons, burp clothes, or any other thing that I have created. Ready for it. I have been too busy to touch my sewing machine. I have been too busy to touch my house too. And it shows. I have been too busy to cook.

To further complicate matters, my wonderful son is having a birthday party this weekend. He turns 2 today. I have to make beanbags for the beanbag toss. I'm still trying to decide whether to make the cupcakes or cave in and buy them at a store. Today, I learn it might possibly rain this weekend. Rain??!!!?? Again? So, I have to pull out the idea book and find games and such that can played indoors. Then, I must gather the supplies to make the indoor games possible. I have to clean the house. I NEED to get off the computer. Anyway, that is why I have not blogged lately. :)
